The 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 GM/Chevy Duramax L5P DEF Delete Tuner provides an OBD-II programming tool for Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra HD diesel pickups. The package combines a compatible interface with your selected licensing credits, custom engine calibration, and optional transmission tuning.

Designed for the E41 ECM, it matches electronic control strategies to modified DPF, DEF/SCR, and EGR emissions systems. Correctly installed hardware and tuning eliminate regeneration associated with the removed filter and can improve throttle response and power delivery.

Tuning & Performance

Duramax L5P DEF delete tuning changes the ECM strategies associated with modified aftertreatment equipment. Replacement exhaust hardware removes restrictive components, while the calibration bypasses the corresponding monitoring routines covered by the tune.

DEF/SCR removal eliminates fluid dosing from that system. Programming does not physically remove exhaust components. Disabling regeneration with the DPF still installed can cause soot accumulation and restriction, so complete the matched hardware changes before driving.

The selected calibration determines the available levels. A Single Tune uses one chosen setting, while a compatible SOTF package allows switching between its supplied levels using the specified controls.

Revised torque delivery, fueling, and boost settings can improve acceleration and response. The best calibration suits the truck’s workload and mechanical condition. Actual horsepower, fuel economy, and long-term reliability depend on maintenance, supporting modifications, load, and driving habits.

Installation

Prepare this 2020-2023 L5P DEF Delete Tuner with a compatible Windows computer, HP Tuners software, internet access, and stable battery support.

1. Register the interface and verify the selected components.
2. Submit the VIN, ECM serial number, interface serial number, year, tire size, modifications, InfoLog, and requested stock read.
3. Complete the supported E41 OBD-II upgrade and licensing.
4. Receive and load the custom file.
5. Program the engine and optional transmission following the supplied instructions.
6. Complete the prescribed hardware work and final checks.

The direct OBD-II route allows supported trucks to be prepared for tuning without an external E41 Upgrade Kit. Supported T93 Global A controllers also have an OBD-II upgrade route; transmission tuning and licensing remain separate requirements.

Experienced owners can follow the programming instructions themselves. A diesel shop can assist with mechanical installation, diagnostics, or controller recovery, while remote setup guidance is available through DEFDelete support.
