2015.5-2016 Duramax LML DEF delete kit

The 2015-2016 Duramax LML DEF delete kit is an All-in-One bundle for late-production 2015 and 2016 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD/3500HD Pickup Trucks equipped with the 6.6L LML diesel engine. It combines the preloaded Mini Maxx V2 Tuner, complete EGR valve and cooler removal hardware, and a choice of DPF Delete Pipe, 4-inch Exhaust System, or 5-inch Exhaust System.

This full package is built to remove the factory DPF, DEF/SCR, and EGR emissions systems and match those hardware changes with the correct engine tuning. The result is no regeneration for the deleted particulate filter, reduced exhaust restriction, and a complete off-road performance setup without requiring an ECM unlock or a custom tune file to be prepared before installation. Late 2015.5 and 2016 trucks use the 3-bolt exhaust flange, which is the critical fitment difference from early 2015 LML models.

Vehicle Compatibility

This package is specifically designed for the late-production GM platform. Early 2015 trucks use a V-band connection and require the earlier 2011-2015 hardware instead. Current fitment information also excludes Cab & Chassis commercial models and LGH applications.

Tuning & Performance

The DEF delete kit for LML Duramax 2015-2016 uses preloaded Mini Maxx V2 tuning rather than a VIN-specific custom file. The confirmed menu levels in the current tuner database are:

These are menu-selectable levels rather than true Shift-On-The-Fly tuning. The Mini Maxx V2 should be programmed while the factory emissions hardware is still installed, and the truck should be free of unresolved fault codes before removal begins.

After installation, freer exhaust flow and reduced backpressure can improve throttle response and overall engine performance. Higher power settings can also increase drivetrain and thermal load, while fuel economy and efficiency depend on truck condition, load, tire size, driving style, and selected tune. Fixed MPG gains should not be guaranteed.

A platform-specific limitation is that LML Duramax models currently do not display boost through the Mini Maxx V2, even though other engine parameters can still be monitored.

Installation

Tune the truck before physically removing the DPF, DEF/SCR, or EGR components. Connect the Mini Maxx V2 through the OBD-II port, maintain stable battery voltage, select the correct GM/Duramax application, and complete the programming process. Confirm successful operation and address any unexpected codes before beginning the mechanical removal.

After tuning, install the selected Delete Pipe or Exhaust System and complete the EGR valve and cooler removal. If the optional Up-Pipe was selected, install it during the exhaust work according to the supplied instructions. Standard metric hand tools, exhaust tools, penetrating oil, coolant-handling tools, and safe vehicle support are normally required.

The installation can be completed by an experienced DIY owner, but heavily corroded factory parts, previous modifications, or diagnostic problems may make professional assistance the best option.
