The 2020, 2021, 2022 GM/Chevy Duramax LM2 DEF Delete Tune is a vehicle-specific calibration for Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 diesel pickups equipped with the E46 ECM. Designed for a compatible modified exhaust and EGR configuration, it updates electronic control strategies associated with the DPF and DEF/SCR system.

Choose Tow at +20 HP or Street at +40 HP to match your intended use. This Tune Only product provides the digital calibration; programming hardware, licensing credits, ECM upgrade service, and mechanical components are purchased separately.

Vehicle Compatibility

This calibration fits the listed E46 applications. Verify the controller on a 2022 truck because refreshed models can use a different electronic platform. Model year alone is insufficient for selecting between E46 and E66 solutions.

• Selected custom tune file - includes the Tow or Street calibration chosen when ordering. The digital file matches the supported controller, vehicle configuration, and modified emissions hardware.

This Tune Only product contains no physical components. Installation requires a compatible HP Tuners interface, six Universal Credits for E46 licensing, an upgraded ECM, and appropriate mechanical hardware.

A Delete Pipe or Exhaust System, EGR Delete Kit, and ECM upgrade are separate purchases. Existing licensed equipment can be used when it meets the application requirements.

Tuning & Performance

GM/Chevy Duramax LM2 DEF delete tuning matches electronic operation to the modified mechanical setup. Replacement exhausts provide the physical exhaust path, while the calibration changes the corresponding aftertreatment control strategies.

Removing DEF/SCR equipment eliminates fluid dosing from that system. Matched DPF removal eliminates the filter that normally requires regeneration, while EGR valve operation and connections must follow the supplied application instructions.

Each option is a single calibration. Changing to another file requires programming; this product does not provide SOTF switching.

Correct tuning can improve response and power delivery. Fuel efficiency depends on load, tires, terrain, maintenance, and driving habits. Flashing does not physically remove hardware, and leaving a DPF installed with regeneration disabled can cause soot accumulation and restriction.

Installation

Before using this DEF delete tune for Duramax LM2 2020-2022, arrange the required E46 ECM upgrade. The original controller must be removed, sent for the upgrade, and reinstalled before compatible programming.

You will commonly need a Windows computer, compatible VCM Suite software, an HP Tuners interface, internet access, and stable battery support.

1. Confirm the VIN and E46 controller.
2. Complete the ECM upgrade and reinstall the module.
3. Submit the VIN, ECM and interface serial numbers, year, tire size, modifications, InfoLog, and stock file.
4. License the controller and receive the selected calibration.
5. Follow the prescribed flashing and mechanical-installation sequence.
6. Verify operation and check for faults.
