The 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 RAM 1500 Ecodiesel DEF delete kit is an All-in-One bundle for supported RAM 1500 pickups equipped with the 3.0L EcoDiesel engine. It combines the Iron Loader V2 tuner, vehicle-specific ECU tuning, a DPF/CAT Delete Pipe, and EGR valve and cooler removal hardware in one complete package.

The system removes the restrictive factory DPF, DEF, and EGR hardware and matches those changes with the appropriate engine calibration. It is designed for customers looking to eliminate regeneration of the removed particulate filter, reduce exhaust restriction and soot recirculation, and choose a tune based on economy, towing, or performance goals.

Vehicle Compatibility

This package is for the supported RAM 1500 configuration rather than every vehicle using a 3.0L diesel. Dodge/RAM model year, engine, existing exhausts, and vehicle configuration should be confirmed before ordering.

Kit Components

• Iron Loader V2 Tuner - communicates with the ECU through the OBD2 port and PowerGate app using Bluetooth and an internet connection. The device becomes locked to one vehicle.
• Custom Tune File - created from the vehicle’s original Stock File and calibrated for the selected emissions-off setup and desired power level.
• DPF & CAT Delete Pipe - replaces the factory particulate filter and catalytic exhaust section to provide a less restrictive exhaust path.
• EGR Valve & Cooler Delete Kit - provides the parts required for removal of the factory EGR valve and cooler, preventing exhaust gas recirculation through the intake.
• Installation Hardware - includes the basic clamps, block-off components, sealing parts, and related hardware needed for the supplied configuration.

The package does not include transmission tuning. The Iron Loader controls the engine calibration only.

Tuning & Performance

The 2014-2017 RAM 1500 Ecodiesel DEF delete kit uses a Single calibration rather than SOTF. The selected tune is written to the ECU through Iron Loader V2, and additional purchased files can later be selected and installed through the app.

StockPlus is different from the delete calibrations: it keeps the factory emissions components in place, so it should not be used when the DPF, DEF, and EGR hardware is physically removed.

Economy retains factory horsepower while eliminating operation of the removed emissions system. EcoPower adds +35 HP with an emphasis on fuel economy and reliability. Race and Tow both add +50 HP but are calibrated for different operating goals, while Max provides a +75 HP increase for a stock engine and turbo setup. Custom tuning is best suited to trucks with additional engine, turbo, or airflow modifications.

Actual torque, boost response, fuel economy, and efficiency depend on vehicle condition, load, driving style, and selected tune.

Installation

Install the DEF delete kit 3.0 Ecodiesel in two stages: tune the ECU first, then remove the emissions hardware. Connect Iron Loader V2 to the OBD2 port, open the PowerGate app, enable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, and read the vehicle’s factory Stock File with the ignition ON and engine OFF. The Stock File is uploaded through the app for calibration; it is not a file that should be flashed back into the vehicle at this stage.

Once the custom Tune File becomes available, connect a battery charger, select the Tune File in PowerGate, and complete the ECU write without interrupting power or communication. Only after the tune has been successfully installed should the DPF/CAT pipe and EGR valve/cooler hardware be removed and replaced. An experienced DIY owner can handle the mechanical work with normal shop tools, but programming or fitment problems may require technical assistance.

Ordering Information

After the original Stock File is uploaded through the PowerGate app, the custom Tune File is typically prepared within 1 business day. When ready, it becomes available to the customer through the app for download and installation.

A stable battery charger should always be connected while programming. Low voltage during an ECU write can cause programming failure and may prevent the engine from starting. If error F002 appears, the Iron Loader does not yet have the required new Tune File available for programming; confirm that the Stock File has been submitted and that the completed Tune File is available before trying again.

Iron Loader V2 is locked to one vehicle and cannot be moved between multiple trucks. There is no transmission tune included. Additional engine tune files can be purchased separately for $400, and purchased calibrations remain available in the customer’s app for later use.
